About Us

Crossroads Antique Mall is located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. ** "Milton S. Hershey founded the world famous Hershey's Chocolate Company in 1903 and built a town around it for his employees complete with homes, schools and cultural and recreation opportunities. In 1907, Milton S. Hershey founded HERSHEYPARK as a "picnic and pleasure ground" for his workers. Over the years the Park has grown into a world-class theme park, proudly maintaining and honoring the vision of its Founder. Milton and his wife Catherine founded a school for orphan boys in 1909. Today, the Milton Hershey School provides an education and a home to thousands of disadvantaged children." The main objective of the School was to train young men to useful trades and occupations, so they could earn their own livelihoods. Farming was one of those occupations as well as a source of food for the School. To be successful in chocolate manufacturing, Milton Hershey knew he needed rich pasture for his milk chocolate. In 1989 he began purchasing any and all of the farms and land in and around Derry Church. The different farms were named and became known as Units. Crossroads Antique Mall is situated on the Hershey farm called Brookside Unit 26A. Starting in the late 1930's, the original farmhouse residence usually held about 22 boys, ranging in age from 12 to 14 years of age. Each of the boys had 3 4 cows to milk and tend. As incentive, whoever had the best milk production for the month would be treated to extra ice cream or visits to the Park. The facility is unique because it is Hershey's largest parabolic arch barn. Initially called "My Wife's Antiques", this two-story stone barn has been an antique mall for over 20 years.
